An area law-enforcement agency is warning businesses and residents about some counterfeit currency being used.
According to a post on the Higginsville Police Department’s Facebook page, it has taken numerous reports recently of currency being passed with Chinese writing on it.
The post says: “If you are accepting cash from someone, make sure and inspect the bill closely. If you see Chinese writing on the bill, it is fake. If someone tries to pass you a counterfeit bill, please contact us.”
