A Fayette man was killed in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Howard County on Wednesday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as 16-year-old Bryce Harris, of Boonville, reportedly swerved his southbound vehicle to the left to avoid a collision with a northbound vehicle, driven by 56-year-old Gary Nation, which was traveling in the middle of the roadway. Nation reportedly swerved his vehicle to the right, and then the two vehicles hit head-on. Neither driver reportedly was wearing a seat belt.
Nation was pronounced deceased by Howard County Coroner Frank Flaspohler at the scene at 6:48 p.m. Harris reportedly was not injured.
The crash happened at 5:38 p.m. on County Road 318, just north of County Road 312.
