Two youths from Sacramento, California, suffered injuries in an all-terrain vehicle accident in Pettis County on Sunday.
A report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred as a northbound Polaris, driven by an 11-year-old boy, reportedly traveled up a mound of dirt and rolled backwards, pinning the two occupants underneath.
The 11-year-old reportedly was flown by the Air Evac Life Team; and a 13-year-old boy was transported by a private vehicle to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City for treatment of serious and minor injuries, respectively. The report says neither of the youths was wearing a safety device.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m. on private property in the 30500 block on Harding Road.
