A felony charge has been filed against an area college student for allegedly being in possession of child pornography last year.
According to a probable-cause statement, on November 27, 2018, a detective with the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force reviewed a Cybertip, which was submitted by Tumblr to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
A review of images depicted explicit sexual Graphic Interchange Format files or GIFs. A suspect was identified by connecting the screen name to an e-mail account.
On November 29, 2018, Albert Felix reportedly admitted the e-mail address was his. He reportedly said he created the Tumblr account while in high school, and explained he had downloaded child pornography to it, his phone and laptop.
According to online court documents, 22-year-old Felix has been charged with a Class B Felony for Possession of Child Pornography. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for Felix is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
