As the Missouri River continues to recede, the list of portions of major highways closed due to flooding in the KMMO listening area continues to shrink.
According to MoDOT’s Traveler Information map, in Carroll County, Highway 10, between Carrollton and Norborne, that had been closed for several weeks is now officially open to traffic.
And, according to a MoDOT spokesperson today, in Saline County, Highway 240 west of Glasgow, which also had been closed for a lengthy period of time is now officially open to traffic. He said, though, “We have a small spot on the edge, and we’re going to cone it off. We’re going to be down there doing some edge work for about the next two weeks.”
The spokesperson also said, “We will actually have one of the water over the road signs still in place because of that water close to the edge.”
However, official closures remain on portions of two major highways in the area.
In Carroll County, Highway 65, between Carrollton and Waverly; and Highway 41, north of Miami to near the junction of Highway 24, remain closed.
