The list of major highways closed due to flooding in the KMMO listening area continues to get shorter.
According to a MoDOT spokesperson Thursday, July 18, in Saline County, Highway 240 west of Glasgow, which had been closed for a lengthy period of time, was officially reopened to traffic. He said, though, “We have a small spot on the edge (where the water remains), and we’re going to cone it off. We’re going to be down there doing some edge work for about the next two weeks. We will actually have one of the water-over-the-road signs still in place because of that water close to the edge.”
Official closures remain on portions of two major highways in Carroll County.
According to MODOT’s Traveler Information map, Highway 65, between Carrollton and Waverly; and Highway 41, north of Miami to near the junction of Highway 24, remain closed.
