Two area major highways that had been opened for several days were closed again earlier this week due to flooding.
According to MoDOT’s Traveler Information map, in Lafayette County, Highway 224, between Lexington and Wellington; and in Johnson County, Highway 23, between Concordia and Knob Noster, have been closed again due to water over the roadway.
Also, in Carroll County, U.S. Highway 65, between Carrollton and Waverly, remains closed.
There also are a few rural routes still closed due to flooding in the KMMO listening area.
In Carroll County, the stretch of Highway 41, from just north of Miami to the junction of Highway 24, is still open to traffic, with a restriction. The stretch of the highway is open to one lane down the center, with temporary signals in place at each end for traffic control.
