Several actions were taken by the Glasgow School Board during its meeting on Wednesday, July 24.
According to minutes, the board approved a clarification to the student cell-phone policy; upgrading the school telephone system; the evaluation and pay for all co-curricular and extra-curricular activities; and the addition of a student guest form to be completed when a student would like to invite an outside guest to attend school for the day or to attend outside activities, such as school dances.
Other actions included the approval of an application for a 50/50 FV4 Incentive Grant. If awarded, the grant will be used to purchase a welder, a welding spool gun, a control system for the greenhouse and several kits to use in the Ag Department to prepare students for contests. In addition, the board gave its approval to a bid for fencing between the new softball/baseball field and the track; and between the parking lot and the new field.
Also, the board approved the construction of Turner Press Box, concession stand and bathrooms at John Donaldson Field. The project will be paid for with donations for the project. The board also approved repairs to be made to the boiler unit in the high school and elementary school.
