A Buckner man has been charged with a felony after authorities were called out to investigate the report of a suspicious vehicle on July 26 in Lafayette County.
A probable-cause statement says multiple subjects had called and reported the driver, who seemed to be intoxicated, was asking for directions. A deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver of the suspicious vehicle reportedly sped away at a high rate of speed westbound on U.S. Highway 24. The vehicle reportedly was all over the roadway during the pursuit, which ended on Missouri Highway 131.
According to online court documents, 31-year-old David Anthony Kennedy has been charged with a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest, Detention, Stop by Fleeing; and a misdemeanor for a DWI. Bond has been fixed at $10,000 cash or surety.
Kennedy entered a plea of not guilty on Friday, July 26. His next hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 31, at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
