Authorities have identified a body that was pulled from the Missouri River in Lafayette County on Sunday, July 28.
According to a release from the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, the body is that of 54-year-old Andrew L. Fischer, of Independence. The identification was made by the Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation is ongoing. However, no foul play is suspected. Next of kin has been notified.
According to the original report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the body was floating and caught in brush and was located at 1:53 p.m. at the 325.5 mile marker. The original report says it was a drowning.
The body was transported to a funeral home for a pending autopsy.
