A Higginsville man has been charged with a felony for allegedly abusing a child.
According to a probable-cause statement, on July 29, authorities observed a 1-year-old child to have multiple bruises and abrasions on his head, neck, upper chest and shoulders, including a bruise in the outline of a hand on the side of his face. According to a social worker at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, there were no broken bones, but the injuries are suspected child abuse. Interviews during an investigation led to a charge being filed.
According to online court documents, 22-year-old Trevall William Anderson has been charged with a Class D Felony for Abuse or Neglect of a Child- No Sexual Contact. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Anderson’s initial hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
