A 40-year-old Sedalia man is facing felony charges after he allegedly held a woman against her will at gunpoint on Tuesday, July 30.
According to a probable-cause statement, police officers were dispatched to the report of the alleged incident, and a woman told authorities Laparis Moore became upset with her, held a gun to her and wouldn’t let her leave the residence. An officer also says Moore resisted arrest by lunging down the stairs toward the door of the apartments. Moore complied after the officer drew but did not deploy his taser.
Online court documents say Moore has been charged with a Class B Felony for Kidnapping- Facilitating a Felony, Inflicting Injury or Terrorizing- in the First Degree; and Class E Felonies for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting and Resisting Arrest. Bond has been set at $57,000 cash or surety.
Moore’s initial hearing is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
