Missouri Department of Transportation’s Kansas City District will have a new district engineer beginning September 1, 2019.
According to a news release from the department, David Silvester, a licensed professional will assume the job of district engineer. He is replacing Brian Kidwell, who is retiring.
Silvester is a graduate of Kansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He began his career with MoDOT in 1992 as a highway designer in Kansas City, working his way up to the position of assistant state design engineer. He then served as the assistant district engineer in
MoDOT’s Northeast District, before becoming the Central District engineer in 2011.
The Kansas City District Office serves nine counties: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Lafayette, Platte, Pettis, Ray and Saline.
