Marshall residents, city council members, family members of former Missouri Congressman and Treasurer Jim Spainhower, and others turned out for a groundbreaking ceremony and celebration on the Spainhower Campus on Monday, August 5.
Marshall Public Schools’ Assistant Superintendent Dr. Terry Lorenz said the hope is to have a dedication ceremony about the same time next year.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said this is a project that is important for the “Littlest Owls.”
The construction project- which has been estimated to cost between $6.5 million and $7.5 million- is projected to be completed before the beginning of the 2020-21 school year. At that time, the building will be utilized for pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first-grade students.
