A 39-year-old Bogard man who allegedly was in possession of more than one kind of controlled pills on July 31 has been charged with felonies in Carroll County.
A probable-cause statement says a sheriff’s deputy took Jimmie Lee Erwin Jr. into custody on an active probation and parole violation warrant. While searching Erwin, the deputy says he located a pill bottle not belonging to Erwin. Inside the bottle, the deputy says were more than 60 Oxycodone, 40 Alprazolam pills and 30 broken or chips of pills. The deputy also says he located a bag containing 25 more Alprazolam pills; and other drug-related items on Erwin.
Online court documents say Erwin has been charged with three counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance, with bond set at $5,000 cash only.
Erwin entered a plea of not guilty while being arraigned on August 2. His request for bond reduction was denied by the court on August 6. His next hearing is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, at Carroll County Circuit Court.
