A couple of weeks or so ago, Saline County was declared a disaster area due to the flooding that ravaged much of the KMMO listening area earlier this spring and summer.
Federal Emergency Management Agency representatives were at the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, August 13. Intergovernmental Affairs Liaisons Tamiko Exford and Luis Zenteno offered input about many different topics during the discussion. Exford said it’s really important for persons affected to complete the registration process.

Exford also said sometimes people receive a letter that says they aren’t eligible, but that’s not the final say. She says there is an appeals process. She says “They need to carefully read the letter to find out why they are ineligible.”
