During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, August 15, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. noted that Javier Caltenco, a Public Information Officer from the Small Business Administration came by and talked to commissioners on Tuesday, August 13, about loans available for those who qualify and have been affected by a disaster.
Guthrey said available are a business physical-disaster loan; an economic-injury disaster loan; and strictly a home disaster loan. He said loans are available to homeowners or renters. “If you are renting a house or an apartment and a flood or some disaster ruins your stuff, renters can get a Small Business (Administration) loan.”
Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner added “It’s long term; and it’s lower interest rate.”
