Captain Scott A. Shipers, commanding officer of Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A in Lee’s Summit, has announced some promotions of troopers.
According to a news release, Nicholas “Nick” Perez has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 10, which serves Saline County. Perez was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 2014, as a member of the 99th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Zone 10, Saline County.
Corporal Perez was born in Lexington. He graduated from Lexington High School in 2008. Before joining the Patrol, he attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall.
Trooper Aaron Craig has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as an assistant zone supervisor of Zone 13, which serves Pettis County. Craig was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on January 6, 2008, as a member of the 87th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop C, Jefferson County. Craig later transferred to Troop A, where he served Ray, Carroll, Henry and Benton counties.
Craig was born in Cole Camp and graduated from Cole Camp High School in 2004.
The promotions took effect on August 1.
