Several items were covered during the most recent meeting of the Glasgow Board of Alderman on Monday, August 12.
The board heard a request from the Friends of the Pool to hold a Street Dance on September 14 and from the Chamber of Commerce for the use of Water Street for a dance on September 28. Both requests were approved with the exception that the Chamber coordinate with MFA for the dance on Water Street, due to Pumpkin Days being held the same day.
A discussion concerning a lease agreement for a scale was tabled to the September meeting.
There was also a discussion held regarding the condition of sidewalks in town. Letters are expected to be sent to homeowners addressing the repairs needed.
An ordinance that requires drug testing for city employees was also approved by the board and will be adopted by current council.
The board also approved $21,255 to be paid to Westport Pools.
A closed executive session was also held to discuss, real-estate, personnel and legal matters.
