One of three subjects involved in a crash into a car dealership in Marshall on Monday, August 19, has been apprehended.
According to a release from Marshall Police Chief Mike Donnell, at 2:16 a.m., Central Dispatch received a call regarding damage to the front of Marshall Chrysler on West Arrow Street, and a white Dodge Challenger traveling south on U.S. Highway 65. Police officers responded and observed a blue Dodge pickup truck parked in front of the business, where the pickup truck had been driven into the showroom. Officers traveled south on U.S. Highway 65 to locate the white Dodge Challenger, but had no success.
At approximately 2:23 a.m., Saline County deputies located the white Dodge Challenger and a blue Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed, turning west on I-70. Deputies pursued the vehicle until the Missouri State Highway Patrol took over the pursuit. The white Dodge Challenger was involved in an accident on the North Outer Road in Odessa at 2:47 a.m. The driver of that vehicle then entered the blue Dodge Charger, which had stopped at the accident scene, and the pursuit continued to Blue Springs. At 3:01 a.m., spike strips were deployed, and the vehicle came to a stop.
Three subjects then fled on foot from the scene. One subject was located, taken into custody by authorities, transported back to the Marshall Police Department and is awaiting formal charges. The remaining two subjects have been identified but are still at large. Both vehicles were recovered with extensive damage.
The investigation is continuing.
