An area college has issued an alert to be on the lookout for an escaped inmate.
According to a post on State Fair Community College’s website, a 34-year-old inmate from the Tipton Correctional Facility escaped and was last seen on the Missouri State Fair Grounds Sunday, August 18.
Shannon Dewayne Watts is described as being white and about 6-foot tall, with brown hair and brown eyes. And he wears glasses. Watts was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and gray pants.
Students and employees are asked to be alert, lock their vehicles and secure all possessions.
If you see Watts, you are urged to not engage him in any way and call 9-1-1.
