Felony charges have been filed against a Sedalia man who allegedly threatened a woman while possessing a gun during an incident on Tuesday, August 13.
According to a probable-cause statement, the woman told authorities she was trying to retrieve her belongings and end their relationship and 29-year-old Sean David Carroll grabbed an end table and shoved it at her, which caused her to lose her balance. The woman said she grabbed his shirt to try to prevent falling and scratched his neck. The woman also said Carroll had a pistol under his arm and said he was going to shoot her in the face. Authorities noted Carroll’s shirt had been ripped, and he had suffered a scratch on his neck. He denied threatening her.
Online court documents say Carroll has been charged with Class E Felonies for Harassment and Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting and a misdemeanor for domestic assault. There is no bond.
Carroll appeared via video and was arraigned on Monday, August 19. His cause has been continued for attorney status and a release hearing at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 27, at Pettis County Circuit Court.
