A Marshall man has been charged with multiple felonies after he allegedly resisted arrest and injured law-enforcement officers on Tuesday, August 20.
According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, 48-year-old William Hamilton Hostetter violated conditions of his bond; tampered with a GPS monitoring device; and refused to come outside a residence in the 500 block of West Vest Street.
Hostetter was located inside a closet, and while being taken into custody, he reportedly resisted arrest and assaulted law-enforcement officers, causing serious physical injury. Hostetter reportedly continued to resist and fight officers and was eventually subdued and taken to jail.
According to online court documents, Hostetter is facing a Class B Felony for Assault in the Second Degree- Special Victim; Class D Felonies for Assault in the Third Degree- Special Victim and Tampering with Electronic Monitoring Equipment; and a Class E Felony for Escape or Attempted Escape from Custody While Under Arrest for a Felony. There is no bond at this time pending review and further order of the court.
Hostetter is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 22, at Saline County Circuit Court.
