On Tuesday, August 27, Saline County Commissioners attended an Economic Development Site Selection Conference at State Fair Community College in Sedalia.
Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden says they learned what developers are looking for when they bring a new business or industry to a community. Gooden said the trainer pointed out several things, including “Status quo is not an option.” Gooden said: “We can’t keep doing the same things and hoping to grow or just get by because… if anything you lag back.”

Gooden said the trainer said the county is doing things the right way with developing the area first.

Southern District Commissioner Monte Fenner said there were about 12 people from Saline County in attendance among the crowd of nearly 50.
