The Saline County Courthouse is experiencing a temporary outage in some offices due to a ransomware attack on its Computer and Security Systems provider, Midwest Computech.
According to a release from Saline County Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr., the Saline County Courthouse has contracted with Midwest Computech to support and maintain its security and storage systems and it was Midwest Computech that was part of the ransomware target not the Saline County Courthouse.
A letter from Midwest Computech identifies the attack as a “Brute Force” attack that was detected on August 27.
