An area police department is investigating a shooting that left one person dead on Saturday, August 31.

According to a release from the Sedalia Police Department on its Facebook page, officers responded to 11th and Ohio on a report of gunshots being fired and a subject on the ground at 11:38 p.m. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 25-year-old Adrian R. Clark, of Sedalia, in the street. He had been shot several times and died from his wounds.

Patrol officers and investigators began investigating and developed a suspect in the homicide. A Sedalia resident has been arrested, but he has not been formally charged at this time. Authorities are seeking Felony charges of Second-Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and a Felon in Possession of a Firearm.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis County Sheriff’s Department assisted with scene security.
