Temperatures during the month of August turned out to be milder than usual.
According to statistics provided by the National Weather Service, at the KMMO Studio in Marshall, the average high temperature was 84.1 degrees, with the high of 94 degrees recorded on August 13 and 20. The average low temperature was 66.4 degrees, with the low of 59 degrees registered on August 31. Last year, the average high temperature was 87.1 degrees, with 13 days 90 degrees or higher. This year, the mercury climbed to at least 90 degrees only five times.
Measurable rainfall was recorded on 12 of the 31 days- totaling 4.06 inches, including 1.01 inches on August 30.
