At the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, September 5, Collector Cindi Sims talked about the recent 2019 county tax sale.

Sims said the redemption is typically requested through her office.

Sims further explained the first- and second-year properties have a one-year redemption period. She said the third-year properties have approximately 145 days from the sale to reclaim their property.
In all, Sims said 79 properties were offered for sale, including 26 third-year properties. She said 22 third-year properties remain, and cities of Blackburn, Sweet Springs, Slater and Marshall will have the first crack at them because that’s where they are. If any remain at the end of this month, they will be available over the counter beginning October 1 on a month-to-month basis.
