The state of Missouri owes Saline County a six-figure sum of money.
During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Tuesday, September 10, Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden explained it has to do with housing inmates at the county jail.

Gooden further explained the county has to pay up-front, and then the state has to reimburse the county. She said the counties are looking into whether or not this can be changed in the future.

In other news, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. noted- weather permitting- the sidewalk renovation project around the outer portion of the courthouse grounds could be completed by the end of this week.
