In the absence of Saline County Treasurer Marty Smith, Presiding Commissioner Kile Guthrey Jr. gave the Sales tax report for September during the meeting of the county commission on Tuesday, September 10.
The county received $122,307.15 in Sales Tax, which was up more than $42,000 from last month, but it is down nearly $6,000 from the same period last year. In Law-Enforcement Tax, the county received $91,730.35, which was up more than $31,000 from last month, but it is down more than $4,400 from the same period last year.
The Use Tax brought in $36,772.21, which was down more than $15,000 from last month, but it is up more than $8,900 from the same period last year. The Law-Enforcement Sunset Tax raked in $30,545.42, which was up more than $10,500 from last month, but it is down more than $1,400 from the same time period last year. And the Economic-Development Sales Tax raised $121,023.74, which was up more than $41,000 from last month.
Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden says disbursement of funds from the Economic-Development Tax will take place soon.
Saline County voters approved a half-cent sales-tax measure for economic development throughout the county in April 2018. The sales tax began last October. It sunsets on December 31, 2038.
