Marshall Ward 2 Councilman Kirk Arends presented a positive looking proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year during the council meeting on Monday, September 16.
Arends highlighted several areas, including pay raises.

Arends also talked about the 2018-19 budget having a bit of a surplus.

Arends pointed out several challenges coming up, as well.
The council approved the first reading of the ordinance to accept the budget as presented. However, it will have a special meeting at noon on Friday, September 27, to formally approve the Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget.
