During the meeting of the Marshall City Council on Monday, September 16, it considered approval of the second reading of an ordinance to execute an aviation consultant agreement.
City Administrator David Haugland explained why the agreement is needed.
Haugland said the city has $135,000 of its funds from 2016 that are getting ready to expire. That makes it urgent that the city gets this done by the end of September.
Haugland also pointed out there will be three or four meetings to which the city plans on inviting pilots, the people who rent hangars at the airport. He said the city has even talked about reaching out to our corporate citizens- the people who have jets flying in to see if they would have an interest in that.
The council voted to approve the consultant agreement; and it also approved an agreement for a state block grant related to the airport.
