Since it was the last meeting of Fiscal Year 2018-19 on Monday, September 23, the Higginsville Board of Aldermen discussed some budget amendments.
According to City Administrator Jeanette Dobson, the budget was amended for some unexpected increases.

In a news release from Dobson, expenses were increased by $30,000 for dispatch due to unexpected expenses related to phone-line charges; by $1,000 for Parks and Recreation due to unexpected cost for uniforms; by $2,000 for the airport as due to an unexpected increase in fuel sales, the city needed to purchase more fuel than was planned; and by $34,000 for insurance as due to a change of payment due dates, the city had one additional monthly payment during the fiscal year.
Dobson said the board approved the final budget.
Dobson said the board also approved the initial budget for Fiscal Year 2019-20 for the amount of $16,419,192.
