Due to some problems with unattended children at its high school events, the Marshall Public School District is implementing a new procedure effective immediately.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher said the new procedure was discussed at the school board meeting on Tuesday, September 24.
Dr. Maher continued…
Dr. Maher added “as always, we may see some area that we need to make some kind of change. If something is not working for us, of course we will go back, meet with the administrative team and try to make changes so that it’s safe and secure and satisfying for everyone.”
An updated release from Dr. Maher says: “Taking into account feedback from parents and community members, the administrative procedure pertaining to unattended children has been revised.”
The revision has an addendum that says: “Students may sit in the bleachers, auditorium seats, etc., within eyesight of their parent or adult supervisor.”
