There is a new phone scam.
According to a post on the Warrensburg Police Department’s Facebook page, The “American Police Officers Alliance” calls from (702) 705-7102. The caller is said to want 100-, 50-, or 35-dollar donations for “local police officers to get the equipment they need.”
The post says.. “Trust me, this money is not coming to us or other police agencies.”
You are advised to not give them any personal information, including credit- or debit-card numbers nor your social-security number.
If you receive a call like this or you feel you are being scammed, you are advised to call your local law-enforcement agency.
