An area man has been charged with felonies after a reported disturbance with a gun on Monday, October 7.
A probable-cause statement says witnesses told a Saline County Deputy that Billy Wayne Nease pulled a gun on them during the incident in the 500 block of Clyde Street in Slater.
An investigation led authorities to locate the pistol that they say was loaded with seven rounds of ammunition, including a round in the chamber. Authorities also learned Nease was a convicted felon, and he was arrested.
According to online court documents, Nease has been charged with a Class D Felony for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm; and a Class E Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Exhibiting. The court has ordered no bond at this time.
Nease’s initial appearance was set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, at Saline County Circuit Court.
