An area law-enforcement agency has issued an alert about a scam.
According to a post on the Marshall Police Department’s Facebook page, if you receive any packages from FedEx containing checks requesting you to assist in advertising for a company, you are being advised to not cash these checks.
Victims often receive instructions to cash the checks and send a portion of the money to a company.
Authorities say this is a scam.
