
The city of Slater earned a MIRMA award, and it was presented to the city council by Kelly Beets during its meeting on Tuesday, October 15.
Beets- with some input from Slater City Administrator Gene Griffith- explained how the award was earned.

In other news, Mayor Dr. Stephen Allegri said the annual tree trimming will be starting soon on the east side of town. This is done to prevent the tree limbs from getting into the power lines. “If you want to do a pretty job, I’d suggest you hire it or do it yourself. Our main goal is to be proactive in case of an ice storm or heavy snow that we don’t lose power. It’s proved to be successful for the years that we have done it.”
