A Slater woman has been charged with a felony for allegedly abducting three children a couple of years ago.
Multiple news outlets are reporting the three children who were abducted from Saline County in 2017 have been found in Texas.
According to the U.S. Marshals Office, in August of 2017 Shawn Marie Rodriquez allegedly took her three children- all under the age of seven.
The children’s father was granted full custody earlier this year, and they were officially listed by local authorities as missing in July 2019. On August 6, a warrant was issued for Rodriquez’s arrest in Saline County.
On Thursday, October 17, deputy marshals and local task-force officers from the Northern District of Texas found Rodriquez and the three missing children at a home in Arlington, Texas. Rodriquez was arrested and awaits extradition back to Missouri.
The children were taken into the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services- waiting to be reunited with their father.
According to online court documents, Rodriquez has been charged with a Class B Felony for Parental Kidnapping by Detaining and/or Concealing the Whereabouts of the Children for at least 120 Days; and a misdemeanor for violation of education requirements for a child. The court has ordered no bond.
Rodriquez’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
