The Marshall City Council is considering a proposed ordinance to allow golf-cart type vehicles to be driven on certain city streets.
Instead of hearing the first reading of the ordinance, though, the agenda was amended to keep it as a discussion item during the meeting on Monday, October 21.
Police Chief Mike Donnell presented a copy of a map of the city- on which several streets are highlighted- meaning they can only be crossed at a 90-degree angle. He said there is quite a bit of Marshall that will be affected in this manner.

Ward 2 Councilman Chuck Hines explained why he motioned to move the ordinance back to discussion only instead of having the first reading that night.

The proposed ordinance will be revisited during a future council meeting. You can see the map and proposed ordinance by clicking on the links below.
