During his report at the meeting of the Marshall School Board on Tuesday, October 22, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Terry Lorenz said the new transformer is in progress at the Spainhower School; and a new deck is being put on the trailer at Bueker Middle School on East Vest Street.
According to minutes from the meeting, Dr. Lorenz also said new electric service is being installed at the Tudor House on the campus formerly known as the Marshall Habilitation Center. He also said students in the Building Trades program are working on several projects, including insulating the concession stand and building a storage shed for the football program.
Director of Special Services Grace Durham also reported Parents As Teachers will be hosting an event- “Fun with Fire Safety”- from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, at the Marshall Fire Department. She also said counseling is being offered from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Hoot Resource Center; and tutoring will begin on Tuesday, October 29, from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the elementary buildings, BMS and the high school.
Superintendent Dr. Carol Maher also reported to the board MSHSAA regulations had changed for home-schooled students for the 2020-21 school year. She said in order for home-schooled students to participate in any extra-curricular activity, they must be enrolled in two classes on school campus.
The next school board meeting has been scheduled to be held on Monday, November 25.
