During the meeting of the Saline County Commission on Thursday, October 24, commissioners considered approval of a request from the Marshall Cultural Council for an event next year.
Northern District Commissioner Stephanie Gooden explained.

Commissioners approved the request.
Gooden also reminded Marshall residents there is an event coming up during which they can dispose of unwanted items.

According to a flyer about the event, items that will not be accepted include hazardous waste, tires, paint and oil.
The event is scheduled to be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.- rain or shine- on Saturday, November 9. Grass and brush will be accepted until 3 p.m. at the compost area.
Those who wish to take advantage of the free service must live within Marshall’s city limits and show proof of residency.
