A Marshall man who allegedly kicked a youth in the face on November 11, 2018, and has been charged with a felony, is scheduled to be in court this week.
According to a probable-cause statement, on November 26, a 7-year-old child told authorities that he and Anthony Jasper Alspaw were wrestling, and Alspaw became upset at him when he threw a toy doll and hit Alspaw. The child said Alspaw- while in a standing position- kicked him in the face with his foot while he was lying on the floor. The child also said Alspaw picked him up by his shirt and threw him out the front door. The child showed authorities the bruises he had suffered to his left eye, right cheek, right ear, forehead and right shoulder.
On November 27, the Children’s Mercy Scan Clinic contacted authorities and informed them the child was diagnosed as having suffered physical abuse.
Online court documents say 24-year-old Alspaw is facing a Class D Felony for Abuse or Neglect of a Child- No Sexual Contact.
An arraignment hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on Monday, October 28, at Saline County Circuit Court.
