An Independence man has been charged with a felony in Saline County for allegedly stealing a vehicle in another town.
According to a probable-cause statement, on Friday, October 26, a Marshall Police officer located a vehicle that matched the description of one that was reported as stolen from Jackson County on October 20. The man who was sleeping in the driver’s seat at the time it was located parked in the 1600 block of South Linn Avenue was arrested. The vehicle, which was reported as stolen out of Buckner, was reclaimed by its owner.
According to online court documents, Collin Richard Black has been charged with a Class D Felony for Tampering with a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash or surety.
Black’s initial hearing is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
