An Emma resident was one of four persons injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Johnson County on Saturday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as an eastbound vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Joseph Dowdy, of Garden City, reportedly failed to yield the right-of-way to a southbound vehicle, driven by 66-year-old Steven Schelp.
One person in Dowdy’s vehicle reportedly was transported by Johnson County ambulance to Research Medical Center in Kansas City for treatment of moderate injuries and two other persons refused treatment of minor injuries at the scene. Schelp, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Johnson County ambulance to Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg for treatment of minor injuries.
The crash happened at 11:30 a.m. on Missouri Highway 13 at Missouri Highway 2.
