A $5 million federal grant will fund key upgrades to four Missouri Veterans Homes.
According to Missourinet, the Missouri Veterans Commission runs seven homes across the state that provide long-term, skilled-nursing care for veterans of the U.S. military.
Warrensburg is getting more than $1.2 million; St. James was awarded $618,000; St. Louis will receive $1.6 million; and Mexico will get $1.4 million.
The grants will be used to replace aging mechanical systems with high-efficiency units that are expected to enhance the lives of Missouri veterans, their families and employees.
