A 61-year-old Chilhowee man died in a rollover traffic crash on an icy roadway in Johnson County on Monday.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as Carl Monteer reportedly lost control of his southbound vehicle, and the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned onto its driver’s side.
Monteer was pronounced deceased at the scene by Deputy Coroner Troy Armstrong at 3:55 p.m.
The crash happened at 2:41 p.m. on Route F, four-tenths of a mile north of Route BB.
