The Saline County Commission has issued a statement regarding employee health insurance coverage.
The statement issued on November 12 says: “It has come to the county commissioners’ attention, due to an administrative oversight, employee health, prescription and dental coverage was inadvertently terminated on November 1. After speaking with United Healthcare, employee coverage has been reinstated as of November 13.
“Any claim that was filed or submitted to a covered provider between November 1 and 12 should be resubmitted to the provider for a proper coverage determination.”
In an interview with KMMO News today, Clerk Debbie Russell said: “I take responsibility for every aspect of my job, whether it’s our deficiency or that of others. I still hold strong to taking responsibility for any issues. But in this case, this is strictly an internal issue that happens to every entity at one time or another in one form or another. And this was taken care of far in advance to cause any issues for employees. … I believe in full transparency. As of today, there have been no calls from any pharmacy, any doctor’s office, any hospital or any medical facility questioning any insurance coverage on any employee.”
The letter says “should you have any questions, please address them to Debbie Russell at the County Clerk’s office.” The telephone number to contact the County Clerk’s office is (660) 886-3331.
