A 48-year-old Franklin man has been charged with multiple Felonies after a traffic stop by two conservation agents out on Howard County Spotlight Patrol on November 14.
According to a probable-cause statement, a bag was located in the passenger seat; and inside the bag, the agents say they found 14 gallon-sized Ziploc bags containing a green leafy substance that smelled like and resembled marijuana. The driver of the vehicle reportedly told authorities that he “did not know there was weed in that bag.” The conservation agents also allegedly found a couple of firearms and other drug-related items in the vehicle.
According to court documents, Tony Marcum has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance and two counts of a Class C Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Bond has been set at $20,000 cash only.
Marcum was arraigned on November 14. He has a bond-reduction hearing scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, at Howard County Circuit Court.
