On November 13, Marshall Mayor Julie Schwetz met with the Saline County Career Center DECA chapter to present a proclamation declaring November DECA month.
A news release says DECA began in 1946 and prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance and hospitality, and management at the high school and collegiate levels.
According to advisor Kerry Henley, the SCCC DECA chapter has several activities planned this month to help promote the organization, and will be working on several community-service activities throughout the rest of the school year.
